With respect to all Canadian Immigration applications represenatives must be authorized in order to charge a fee for conducting business on behalf of clients when dealing with the Government of Canada Immigration and refugee matters.
Authorized representatives are:
- lawyers who are members in good standing of a Canadian provincial or territorial law society and students-at-law under their supervision;
- Immigration consultants who are members in good standing of the Candian Society of Immigration Consultants; and
- Notaries who are members in good standing of the Chambre des notairies de Québec and students-at-law under supervision.
Ensure that anyone providing you advice on relocating to Canada is a professional in one of the above categories. If you aren’t sure, ask them about their credentials. Your future depends on it.
